College of Arts, Media and Design

Comprised of 6 departments offering 60 combined majors for more than 2,000 Undergraduate and Graduate students, Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) is a community of creators, innovators and researchers focused on expanding artistic and academic boundaries with cutting-edge technology, data and new media.

Situation: The website was not easy for users to navigate. From an aesthetic standpoint, the imagery, colors, typography and layout were not aligned with the new visual identity and did not convey the essence of the college.

Results: I identified a digital agency with proven design chops to redesign the site. Internal MarCom led the wireframes and I provided the creative vision to veer away from typical higher education site designs to attract prospective students, share the latest news and increase enrollments. Photoshoots occurred throughout the semester to grow a library of vibrant imagery. New photos, mixed typography and clear hierarchy express creativity within a top-tier research University. Added bonus: alumni noticed (and love) the new site design.
