Center for Transformative Media
The Center for Transformative Media (CTM) at the College of Arts, Media and Design empowers communities with the use of and access to networked media. CTM facilitates forward-thinking research to enhance technology and media engagement, promote mobility/data justice, and create the conditions for sustainable cities. The visual identity is built around the concept that CTM is a place that sparks conversations, connections and innovation.
Situation: As a new entity, the CTM was in need of a symbol and visual identity to create awareness of its existence and promote its endeavors.
Results: Originating from the “CAMD square” (the graphic symbol of the college), the visual identity utilizes the same color palette and fonts, along with a graphic element inspired by sound waves and vibrations that result from transformation. Added bonus: this is proof of concept for building on an existing brand by introducing a new graphic element and adjusting how colors interact to create something wholly unique to CTM, as an adjacent center to CfD (previous case study) and an integral part of the College.
